Cartersville and Woodland punch their tickets to the Class 5A volleyball tournament.

The Cartersville and Woodland volleyball teams have punched their tickets to the Class 5A GHSA state tournament with strong showings at the recently completed Region 7-5A tournament.

Cartersville goes into the event as the No. 2 seed out of the region and will play at home against the No. 3 seed from Region 6-5A Oct. 18.

Woodland will play on the road after earning the No. 4 seed out of Region 7-5A and taking on the No. 1 seed out of Region 6-5A.

Dalton won the Region 7-5A and heads into the state tournament as the No. 1 seed and plays the No. 4 seed out of Region 6-5A.

Calhoun goes in as the No. 3 seed after the Region 7-5A tournament and will play the No. 2 seed out of Region 6-5A.

The Region 6-5A tournament is yet to be completed.

Cass, which also plays in Region 7-5A, ended its season after the region tournament with a 4-28 record.

Cartersville heads to the postseason with a 28-17 record.

The Lady Purple Hurricanes are led by Mckenzie Wilkie with 398 digs and 58 aces.

According to stats posted on MaxPreps, Ailee England heads to the state tournament with 316 kills.

Aubree Barrett has 625 assists.

Woodland heads into the state tournament with a 13-26 record.

In the region tournament, the Lady Wildcats lost to Dalton (2-0), beat Hiram 2-0 and then were swept by Dalton to end its season.

Adairsville finished the regular season with a 10-23 record after getting swept by Coahulla Creek.

The Lady Tigers have lost three in a row.

According to stats posted on MaxPreps, Makenzie Harris has 29 blocks.

Addie Pearson has 59 aces and 196 assists, Sherry Wells has 312 digs and Jordyn Hartline has 130 kills.
