Coach Russell H. Williams brings a strong combination of leadership, technical expertise, and proven success to Woodland High School. He is a licensed U.S. Soccer coach and referee whose accomplishments in women’s soccer include a Georgia state championship, a middle school region title, and an undefeated 50–0 run.

Coach Williams is committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. His coaching philosophy emphasizes character, accountability, teamwork, strategic thinking, and consistent performance. He strives to help players grow not only as athletes but also as confident leaders prepared to succeed in the classroom and their communities. Professionally, Coach Williams is an account coordinator with more than 15 years of hands-on experience in building automation and controls. His background includes system design, commissioning, field troubleshooting, strategic planning, and customer leadership within complex commercial environments.

His professional training and certifications include Speakeasy’s “Talk So People Listen,” Dale Carnegie Leadership, Sandler Sales Training, Tridium Niagara N4, Trane ES, SC, and TGP2, Johnson Controls PCT, and Distech Controls.Coach Williams brings the same preparation, communication, leadership, and results-driven approach from his professional career to every practice, match, and interaction with his players. Although he is extremely proud of his professional and coaching accomplishments, his two children, Kennedy and Mason, continue to be his greatest motivation.
