Coach LaShon Darby attended and played at Cartersville High School. He was part of the ’91 State Championship team first in school history. He received AA State Player of the Year and is still in the Cartersville and GHSA record book for most carries in a state title game.

He attended Georgia Military College for 2 years which he started both years with his major being psychology. With many choices for college, he chose Gardner Webb University with a major in Accounting. He started both years with his 1st year he was honored on being 2nd Team All-American and his senior year being 1st Team Preseason All American. Prior to giving up his football career, he had several NFL and CFL workouts but due to a hamstring issue was no longer able to pursue his dreams. After graduating from Gardner Webb University he coached at North Greenville College where he was the defensive back coach.

He has a long track record of coaching football from College, High (Cartersville, Cass) and now Woodland High School for his 3rd year. He loves coaching and helping young men reach their potential as well as being a mentor. This will be his 14th year total coaching and has many players he talks to this day. He has been extremely excited about the opportunity under Coach Andy Scott leadership.
